Where to stay in Lloret de Mar
Behind the Platja de Lloret beach, you find the old town with the best selection of shopping possibilities and most of the nicest restaurants. Platja de Lloret is the most eastern of the two beaches, between the photos 13 and 20.
Most of the nightclubs are located along Avenida Just Marlés Vilarrodona (marked on the map with a red line). The main shopping street is Carrer de Sant Pere (marked with a blue line).
The western beach is called Platja de Fenals, and behind it, there’s a wider area full of mostly hotels and bars. That area lacks the charm of an old Spanish town, which can be found behind the main beach.

Lloret de Mar isn't only about the sun and the beach. The town offers plenty of things to do for both children and grown ups.
Waterworld, Parc Aquàtic de Lloret de Mar
Though the water park isn’t quite as amazing as Caribe PortAventura, it’s still the best water park to north of Barcelona and offers lots of great fun for adults and children alike. Besides lagoons and wave pools, you get a variety of scary and less adventurous water slides in the park. You can test your nerves in a 77 meter high Kamikaces slide that speeds you up to 60 kmh. The restaurant services are fast food like.

How to get: The water park is 1,5 kilometers away from Lloret de Mar bus station, in the center of town, so it’s a long hike but not impossible. There is also a free shuttle bus from Lloret de Mar bus station. Check FAQ section of their website for timetables.
Santa Clotilde Gardens
These beautiful reneissance gardens designed by Nicolau Rubió i Tuduri, are not to be missed if you appreciate green spaces. It’s a perfect spot for a short walk and having an afternoon picnic with breath-taking views over the Mediterranean. There is a 5 euro entrance fee into the park. Discounts for special groups.

How to get: 2,5 kilometer walk from the center of Lloret. Alternatively, you can grab a taxi.
Church of Sant Romà
The oldest church of Lloret, located right in the center, is the Gothic style built Sant Romà. The dazzling church built in 16th century is a Lloret landmark and its colorful mosaic domes can’t be missed.

Castell d’en platja
Probably the most beautiful home to be found in Lloret de Mar is the Castle on the Beach, as it translates. It’s located on the east side of the town on Sa Caleta beach. The amazing building can be viewed unfortunately only from the distance as it’s a private residence.

This theme park is designed for the smallest children of the family. The Gnome Park offers lots of leisure activities in massive 40,000 m2 in the outskirts of Lloret. You will find tree adventure courses with ziplines , mini-golf, arcade room with interactive games and mini-kart circuit. There is a cafeteria and a restaurant inside the park.

How to get: The park is located 3,5 kilometers away from the centre of Lloret. Taxi or own car are the easiest ways to get there as there.
The coast of Lloret is ideal for hiking and nordic walking. There are endless paths squirming along the cliffs next to turquoise Mediterranean with beautiful little coves. You can find trail ideas and maps from lloretdemar.org.
You have a decent selection of shopping possibilities in Lloret de Mar. In the city center, you find stores like Mango, Benetton etc. For slightly larger selection of shops, you can take a bus to Blanes only 5 kilometers away. The selection of shops in Blanes is only slightly better than in Lloret de Mar.

How to get from Barcelona Airport
From Barcelona airport El Prat there is a direct bus connection. It takes about 35-55 minutes more, depending which terminal one leaves from. The route goes via Estació del Nord.

Train connections from Barcelona up north to Costa Brava don’t go beyond Blanes, the railroad takes a turn to inland after that. Distance from Blanes to Lloret de Mar is 6-7 kilometers.

How to get from Barcelona City
There is a non-stop bus connection from Barcelona’s bus station Estació del Nord to Lloret de Mar. The journey takes about an hour or a little more. Estació del Nord is located a little over one kilometer away from Catalonia Square next to the Arc de Triomf metro station.

How to get from Girona Airport
From Girona airport there is a bus connection to Lloret. Distance is about 30 kilometers and takes about 35 minutes.

Winter: The winter months from December to February are often rainy and the daily high average temperatures very between 5-10 °C. The weather in Lloret de Mar winter can be quite unpredictable.
Spring: From March to May, the rains are less frequent and the sun is out often. The average temperature climbs in March up to around 15°C, but in May, the average daily high is already over 20 °C. May is often the first month the locals hit the beach as hot days are possible.
Summer: From June to August, the sunshine is pretty much guaranteed. The temperature climbs up to 30 °C and over. June isn't as hot month as July and August.
Autumn: September is still a warm month and it’s often beach weather in Lloret de Mar still throughout the month. The daily high temperature in September stays clearly above 20 °C. In mid October, the weather cools down to under 20 °C. and it starts to rain more often. In November the temperature is already around 10°C.
